Job Summary

Flip Africa needs an Internal Traceability Auditor to make sure that its organic certification and supply chain data are accurate The main job at first is to do organic inspections on farms.

 The auditor will go to the farms of registered farmers to talk to them and look at their farms to make sure they meet organic requirements After the first term, the job also includes making sure that the company's traceability systems are accurate and reliable.

This includes regular checks of the data, verification exercises, and backing up projects that make the supply chain more open The job is based in rural areas of Western and Eastern Uganda, and the person will have to travel to different field sites on a regular basis

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspections and Audits in the Field:

  • Go to farms to do organic inspections, talk to farmers about how they do things, and find any violations
  • Check the accuracy and compliance of traceability data and systems by doing internal audits
  • Check on farmers and purchases in the field without warning to make sure the data is correct

Checking and Managing Data:

  • Check the registration and purchasing data of farmers using methods like phone surveys
  • Keep all traceability records up to date and make sure they are correct
  • Make sure that all data relevant to traceability is properly documented and backed up

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Make regular reports for management about the results of audits and the general state of traceability
  • Help get ready for and run external audits and certification processes
  • Keep up with the rules and standards in your field that have to do with traceability and data integrity

Working Together and Learning:

  • Work with teams in the field to make data gathering methods better and the data as a whole better
  • Help create and implement new systems and programs for traceability
  • Help and coach other employees on the best ways to do traceability

Skills, Education, and Qualifications

RequirementDetails
EducationA bachelor's degree in a field that is related (such agriculture, supply chain management, or data analysis)
ExperienceYou need to have worked in data auditing, data management, or a related job for at least two years

Technical Skills:  
Knowledge of how to collect survey data using a cell phone  
Able to use statistical software and tools for managing data well  
Very good at analyzing things and paying close attention to details  
Language Skills:  
Being able to speak and write English well  
Being able to speak the local language(s) of the district you are allocated to (Eastern or Western Uganda)  
Personal Traits:  
Great at organizing and communicating  
Can work alone and with others  
A good attitude and a strong desire to keep learning  
Logistical Needs:  
Being how to ride a motorbike (bike) is a big plus for getting from one farm to another  
Critical Independence:  
The candidate must not be involved in buying or procurement and must not have any personal ties to current employees or farmers to make sure they are fair
