Job Summary
The Audit Manager at PKF Uganda will lead audit engagements, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide valuable insights to clients. This role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and deep audit expertise to deliver high-quality services, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute audit engagements from start to finish
- Organize audits and assign staff to team and cluster engagements
- Manage assigned client portfolios
- Review and evaluate audit reports promptly
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to audit teams, including interns and junior staff
- Assess risk management and internal control processes
- Prepare and deliver audit reports to clients and senior management
- Contribute to business development initiatives within the department
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or ACCA certification required
- Minimum 5 years of audit experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs)
- Extensive understanding of audit standards and methodologies
- Proven experience in managing and supervising junior team members, including interns
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong ethical standards and integrity
- Effective organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
