Job Summary

Career Directions is looking for a Mobile Crusher Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to work at a client's quarry in Jinja, Uganda.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership position that is in charge of making sure that heavy quarry machinery is always running and working as efficiently as possible.

 The best candidate is someone who has worked for more than 10 years maintaining mobile crushers and other equipment in places where they have to work a lot

Main Duties

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

• Lead programs for both preventative and corrective maintenance, with a 50/50 split between mobile crushers (Power Screen) and other equipment (drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, trucks)
• Fix, overhaul, and refurbish big parts of machines
• Set up new machines and keep complete records of all maintenance work

Support for Quarry Operations:

• Make sure that machines used for drilling, blasting, crushing, and hauling work safely and efficiently
• Help production teams reach their daily throughput goals while keeping equipment downtime to a minimum

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

• Make sure that all HSE rules are followed, including risk assessments and emergency response plans
• Encourage a culture of safety first among the maintenance and operations personnel

Leadership and Team Development:

• Oversee, supervise, and coach a group of technicians and mechanics
• Plan, arrange, and carry out maintenance tasks in a way that is efficient
• Effectively manage maintenance budgets and keep expenses down

Experience and Qualifications

Certification:  
A certificate or degree in mechanical, automotive, or plant mechanics from a school that is known for its work (at least a 3-year apprenticeship program)  
Proven Expertise:  
Must have proven experience fixing and maintaining Mobile Crushers  
Regional Preference:

Good at fixing things and finding solutions to problems  
Good in leading, talking to people, and managing teams  
Very organized, pays attention to details, and knows how to manage time  
Can work under pressure and still get good results  
A strong dedication to safety and following all rules and procedures for running the business
