Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that works to protect children's rights.This job requires a lot of technical knowledge about project management as it involves managing the project from start to finish.
The Coordinator will be in charge of managing partnerships dealing with donors writing reports and making sure that a consortium initiative has an effect To do this job well you need to be able to influence and coordinate well with partners and stakeholders in a complicated humanitarian situation The main goal is to make life better for children especially girls
Roles & Responsibilities / Main Duties
Project Management: Make sure that the project is planned carried out and monitored in a way that meets its goals on schedule and within budget
Managing Partnerships: Make sure that interactions with implementing partners are in line with project aims and Plan International's standards
Donor Compliance: Make sure the project meets the needs of the donors and send in reports on time and with the right information
Team Leadership: Lead and support the project team creating a work climate where everyone can work together and get things done
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between Plan International and the appropriate government agencies UN agencies and other NGOs
Budget Management: Keep an eye on how much money is being spent on the project and make sure the budget is being used wisely
Monitoring and Evaluation: Make sure there are strong M&E mechanisms in place to keep track of progress quantify impact and help people learn
Academic Qualifications
Qualification
A degree from a university in project management social sciences development studies or a similar discipline
Having a Master's degree is a plus
Skills and Experience
You should have at least five years of experience managing complicated development or humanitarian initiatives preferably in child protection or a similar field
Proven ability to manage partnerships and work in a consortia
A lot of experience in managing grants and reporting to donors (for example UNHCR ECHO and USAID)
Great talents in leading coordinating and representing others
A deep understanding of the fundamentals of project cycle management and M&E
It is really helpful to have worked with refugees or in the West Nile region of Uganda
