Job Summary:

The job will be based at the Country Office in Kampala and will involve overseeing the technical aspects of the entire country program, WHH field offices, and working with partner organizations.

 It will be available for a one-year introductory contract. The job will be filled on January 1, 2026. The goal of this job is to give professional field support to the workforce of project partners while all skills development projects are being carried out. 

Encourage quality in the skills development procedures and, if necessary, show partner workers how to do things in order to help them become better at achieving the project's goals.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with partner organizations to design and carry out field activities that are in line with project work plans.
  • Help partners set up skills development programs and offer assistance after training.
  • Make partnerships with government agencies, development partners, and businesses stronger.
  • Take part in appropriate coordination platforms and sector working groups on behalf of WHH.
  • Encourage young people to be creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial.
  • Fight for youth empowerment by getting rid of institutional restrictions.
  • Add youth training and empowerment to all WHH activities.
  • Work with teams inside the company to plan, budget, and follow the rules.
  • Create and put into action project MEAL plans, tools, and data systems.
  • Build the MEAL and technical skills of partner staff.
  • Write down what you learnt, success stories, and case studies.
  • Help plan and carry out training programs that will help young people get jobs.
  • Build the skills needed for practical, demand-driven training.
  • Make sure that the project's actions are in line with WHH Uganda's Country Strategy.
  • Encourage a culture of learning, creativity, and inclusiveness

Skills and Experience:

  • A master's degree in a field that is applicable (such education, development studies, or youth/social work)
  • A bachelor's degree and a lot of relevant work experience may be enough.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience directing programs for Economic Development and Youth Skills
  • Strong knowledge of skills development, including vocational training and adult education.
  • Experience managing projects and being very organized.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain technical networks.
  • Experience with skills development initiatives sponsored by foreign donors.
  • Good at strategic thinking, communication, and developing the sector
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and operate well under pressure
