Job Summary

The Strategic Education Advisor for School Leadership, based in VVOB’s Uganda Country Office in Kampala, will provide technical and strategic guidance on school leadership to VVOB staff and external partners. This role involves collaborating with consortium partners to develop a scalable program focused on sustainability and government ownership, working closely with the LIT program, education department, and global VVOB teams to advance educational initiatives.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and develop scalable, relevant education projects
Provide short- and long-term strategic advice, insights, and guidance on school leadership, aligned with policy trends, recent research, and innovations in education and international development
Engage in various roles within the capacity-building process based on program needs, contexts, and phases
Build and maintain strong relationships and networks with relevant partners, institutions, and organizations
Contribute to internal and external knowledge development by documenting and sharing lessons learned with partners, colleagues, and VVOB national teams

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

Graduate degree in Education, Development Studies, or a related field
Proven experience in providing strategic and technical advice on school leadership or educational reform
Strong understanding of education policy trends, research, and innovations in international development
Experience collaborating with government partners and consortiums to scale educational programs
Excellent networking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to document lessons learned and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
Strong organizational and project management skills, with adaptability to diverse program contexts
