Job Summary:

The Mathematics and Economics Teacher will be in charge of teaching both topics in full, using either the IB Diploma Programme or the Cambridge International curriculum. 

This job involves making interesting lesson plans, meaningful tests, and helping students improve their analytical and critical thinking skills while upholding the school's high standards of academic achievement and helping students reach their full educational potential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and teach high-quality math and economics lessons to high school students
• Create detailed unit plans and instructional materials that meet the criteria of the IB and Cambridge curricula
• Make, give, and grade tests, assessments, and exams that are useful
• Give students timely and helpful feedback on their academic progress
• Supervise and lead co-curricular activities related to Mathematics, Economics, or general academics
• Keep accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results
• Communicate regularly with parents about student achievement and curriculum updates
• Work well with department colleagues and school leadership
• Take part in professional development opportunities and staff meetings
• Help with curriculum development and improvement initiatives
• Make the classroom a positive, welcoming, and stimulating place to learn
• Stay up to date on new developments in Mathematics, Economics, and international education trends
• Get classrooms and learning materials ready to help with effective lesson delivery

Skills and Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in math, economics, or a related discipline (a master's degree is better)
• A valid teaching qualification or certification
• At least three years of experience teaching in high school
• Have taught the IB Diploma Programme or the Cambridge International curriculum
• A lot of understanding about how to teach math and economics these days
• Great communication, organization, and people skills
• Ability to change lessons to meet the requirements of various students
• A commitment to the whole development of students and the world
• Being open-minded
• Being good at using digital learning tools and educational technology
• Experience working in an international educational setting (highly desired)
• Shown that you can work well with others in a team teaching setting
