Job Summary
The Specialist – Financial Planning and Analysis supports the Corporate Performance Management (CPM) team in developing and executing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. The role focuses on performance monitoring, managing financial interrelations between MTN Telco and Mobile Money (MoMo), and ensuring alignment with company policies and SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Operational Delivery
- Lead sub-divisional strategy aligned with CPM goals
 - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Ops Review Reports per SLA
 - Act as finance liaison between MTN Telco and MoMo businesses
 - Gather assumptions and drivers for business plans, budgets, and forecasts
 - Prepare and load budgets/forecasts into financial systems (Oracle)
 - Provide financial insights to challenge and strengthen business plans
 - Support business units with financial implications of decisions
 - Collaborate with Finance CoEs to develop integrated planning strategies
 - Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory reporting
 
Budget Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct periodic actual vs. budget reviews; analyze variances
 - Propose corrective actions and budget revisions
 - Prepare operational and project performance reports
 - Review commission calculations per approved structures
 - Provide analytics to Line and Business Heads for decision-making
 
Governance & Leadership
- Participate in operational and ad-hoc meetings
 - Escalate critical risks and resolve SLA breaches
 - Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and develop team skills
 - Foster MTN culture and customer-centric environment
 
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field
 - Certification: CA, CPA, or equivalent (advantage)
 - Experience: 4–7 years in Financial Management (multinational preferred)
 - Industry: Telecoms experience highly preferred
 - Systems: ERP (Oracle), MS Office, GAAP, IFRS
 - Skills: Budgeting, financial modeling, data interpretation, reporting
