Job Summary

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician at Mukwano Industries will maintain and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance. This role involves troubleshooting, installing systems, managing inventory, and adhering to environmental standards, contributing to the company’s operational efficiency.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect air conditioners and chillers for potential issues
• Plan and supervise the installation of air conditioning devices
• Prepare and submit daily activity reports to the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Supervisor
• Diagnose issues and coordinate with the Electrical Supervisor to schedule repairs
• Install new systems, repair faulty units, and replace defective parts in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
• Clean critical components such as coils, drain lines, cooling towers, and condensation pans to ensure optimal functionality
• Request necessary parts and tools to maintain inventory for repairs and installations
• Adhere to environmental management system regulations
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Supervisor

Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

• Ordinary diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• At least 2 years of experience in a related role
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Creativity in project management and innovation
• Critical thinking and quick problem-solving abilities
• Sound judgment and strategic thinking
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
