Job Summary

Mukwano Industries is seeking nine highly motivated and experienced Shift Supervisors to oversee the plastic molding production lines at our Namanve plant Reporting to the Production Officer/Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor will ensure machines operate efficiently, products maintain high quality, and staff productivity is maximized during shifts

Responsibilities, Duties, and Roles

• Oversee plastic molding equipment and monitor their performance during each shift
• Provide technical guidance to machine operators and support staff, monitoring and evaluating their performance
• Assist in quality enhancement through basic troubleshooting of product defects
• Immediately report any machine or product issues to the Production Officer
• Monitor product quality and make real-time adjustments to ensure standards are met
• Analyze causes of production rejections and implement corrective actions to minimize waste
• Assist the Production Officer with the performance appraisal process for team members
• Prepare and submit daily production shift reports and any other required documentation
• Participate in regular stock-taking procedures at the factory
• Monitor the transit of finished goods from the factory floor to the warehouse
• Ensure operational standards are maintained and company safety and quality policies are followed
• Train and supervise team members in equipment usage, safety protocols, and operational standards
• Ensure EMS policies are followed
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Production Officer or Manager

Skills and Traits: 
Good in leading and coordinating teams 
Good at talking and writing clearly 
Ability to solve technological problems and have mechanical skills 
Self-motivated and proactive, having the potential to inspire others 
Able to work at heights and in places that are hard on the body 
Good with people and able to work well with others 
Ability to keep up with new technologies and ways to make operations better 
Focused on accuracy and able to see small things 
It is important to have a good understanding of HACCP and ISO standards

Conditions of Work

A 48-hour work week, with the option to work extra hours if needed 
Being around high heat, dust, noise, grease, and industrial machines 
Most of the labor is done while standing or strolling on the manufacturing floor
