Job Summary

Nurture Africa is looking for a dedicated Catering Trainer to join its vocational skills development team.This part-time (05) position is all about giving trainees the skills they need to have a successful career in the catering and events industry

The trainer will teach people how to make food on a large scale how to serve it and how to plan and run events. The best candidate is an experienced caterer who loves teaching and is dedicated to helping graduates start their own businesses and find jobs

Roles & Responsibilities / Main Duties

Plan and carry out training modules on catering services such as buffet management off-site event catering and table service
Teach students how to prepare for large groups how to control portions how to think about what they eat and how to present food
Teach students how to deal with clients write proposals figure out costs and run a catering business
Oversee real-world projects and practice catering events to give students real-world experience
Use practical testing written tests and project evaluations to see how well students are doing
Keep track of all the catering materials and equipment making sure that they are all used properly and stored correctly
Teach all trainees how to be professional manage their time well and provide good customer service

Academic Qualifications

Position	Qualification
Catering Trainer	A diploma or advanced certificate in catering hospitality event management or a similar discipline from an accredited school

Skills and Experience

You must have at least five years of hands-on experience in the food or event management field
Having trained or mentored people before is a big plus
A lot of understanding about food safety rules for making and serving food on a wide scale
Great at organizing and managing projects
The ability to get students involved and make the learning environment engaging and useful
