Nurture Africa is a well-known non-profit organization that works to make life better for vulnerable children and communities in Uganda .They are looking for a Chef Trainer who is active devoted and supportive to work with their vocational training program
This part-time job is very important to Nurture Africa's goal of giving young people and adults useful marketable cooking skills that will help them find long-term jobs or start their own businesses
The best applicant will be a dedicated teacher with a lot of expertise in the business who is eager to teach the future generation of chefs the basics and more advanced cooking skills as well as how to keep food safe and run a kitchen
Roles & Responsibilities / Main Duties
Create and teach a full hands-on curriculum in culinary arts and food production that meets national occupational criteria
Teach pupils how to prepare food cook it bake it and make pastries in a training kitchen
Teach and make sure that everyone follows the tight rules for food safety hygiene and cleanliness (HACCP requirements)
Plan and give students both practical and theoretical tests to see how well they are doing and provide them helpful comments
Teach students how to act professionally design menus keep costs down and find job opportunities in the hospitality business
Make sure that culinary tools and materials are properly maintained and used so that students can study in a safe and productive atmosphere
Help make the culinary training curriculum better all the time by keeping up with changes in the field
Academic Requirements

Qualification
Chef Trainer
A diploma or advanced certificate in culinary arts food production hospitality management or a field that is closely related from an accredited school
Skills and Experience
At least five years of demonstrated professional experience as a chef or head cook in a well-known restaurant
It is very helpful to have taught or trained people before
A lot of knowledge about worldwide and local foods how to cook them and how to run a kitchen
Great communication leadership and people skills as well as the ability to inspire pupils from different backgrounds
A lot of patience honesty and a real desire to help young people and mentor them
