NCBA Bank Uganda is looking for a Dealer in Fixed Income and Money Market to make sure the bank has enough money and a plan for how to get more money to meet the planned expansion of its assets and obligations on the balance sheet . The bank also has to be ready for unexpected events
The person in this position will keep an eye on and manage the banking book investment portfolio which includes government securities repos reverse repos and interbank placements
The job should help the company by improving pricing and risk management while also giving the Group information
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Putting into action and carrying out the Liquidity Management strategy plan that fits with the bank overall strategy and stays within the approved risk appetite and portfolio requirements
Make sure that money market instruments like Treasury bills deposits and bonds make money by making sure that the best price is found at the moment of investing
Make sure the bank revenue grows by selling other bank products to achieve the bank financial goals
Use data analytics to check how healthy your portfolio is and guess where it will grow in the future
Smart management of the bank liquidity position on a daily and intraday basis following Group rules and procedures local laws local payment systems and intraday liquidity needs
Managing reserves CRR LCR and the Statutory Liquidity Ratio
Keep an eye on and take care of the Bank investment portfolio which includes government bonds repos and reverse repos interbank placements and foreign currency payments by investing at the most advantageous rates
Keep the bank nostro and clearing accounts in good shape by making sure there is enough money in them to meet the required reserves making sure the accounts are not overdrawn and investing any extra money at the greatest price
Borrowing and lending in the money markets
Predicting cash payments and being ready for problems that can come up because of not having enough cash flow
Keep an eye on changes in the market and the rules and give sales and management comments on the market and the business
Carry out liquidity management tasks within the agreed upon risk appetite and portfolio standards by participating in the different committees as needed
Work together to find report and fix risk and compliance issues with the banking book portfolio
Look at all of the audit report conclusions that are relevant to the Liquidity Management firm and make sure that input is acted on
Increase the bank treasury portfolio by keeping and getting new trade partners
Qualifications Skills and Experience
Academic A degree from a university or the same level of education
Professional ACI Certification
Desired Work Experience
At least three years of experience working in a hectic Treasury environment with two of those years on the Money Market and Fixed Income desk
A good foundation and understanding of banking especially when it comes to foreign exchange and money market goods
