Overview of the Role

The Credit Processing Officer makes sure that credit applications are handled quickly, correctly, and in accordance with NCBA's credit policies and rules This job connects the credit request that clients make with the final decision made by the Credit Risk / Approvals teams It includes checking paperwork, talking to the right people, keeping an eye on credit risk indicators, and keeping strong controls on the credit process

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Receive and carefully check all credit application files from the business teams to make sure that all supporting documents are complete and correct
  • Enter client and facility data into the bank's credit processing system correctly so that it can be evaluated and approved
  • Make sure that all applications follow the bank's credit policy, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines (for example, Know Your Customer - KYC, Anti-Money Laundering - AML)
  • Be the main point of contact between the Relationship Managers, Credit Risk team, and legal department to make sure the credit approval process goes smoothly
  • Help keep track of and report on important credit risk indicators for processed applications in the portfolio
  • Keep an up-to-date and organized record of all credit applications, correspondence, and approvals
  • Make daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the status of the credit processing pipeline

Skills, Education, and Qualifications

RequirementDetails
EducationYou need at least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a similar discipline
ExperienceYou need to have worked for 0 to 2 years This job is for people who just graduated from college It will be a big plus if you have done an internship or worked in a bank before, especially in credit, risk, or operations

Skills:
A strong focus on details and a high level of precision
Good in math and analysis
Great at organizing and managing time
Good at using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Able to learn rapidly and work well with others
Very honest and secretive
