Overview of the Role

As a Mifos/Apache Fineract Developer, your job will be to customize, build, and connect the Mifos X/Apache Fineract platform to Baikal's business operations.

 You will work directly with teams from different departments to ensure seamless operations, add new features, and maintain system performance across all departments

Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

• Make Mifos X / Apache Fineract work better for microfinance businesses
• Make new modules, features, and RESTful APIs based on what the business needs
• Connect systems from other companies, like mobile money platforms, credit bureaus, and payment gateways
• Set up loan products, savings accounts, and workflows for managing clients
• Set up new branches' systems and move data around
• Fix software problems, debug them, and troubleshoot them well
• Work with the business and operations departments to come up with technical solutions
• Keep technical documents up to date and train end users

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

Qualifications Needed:
Good at Java, the Spring Framework, MySQL, and REST APIs
Knowledge of Angular or React, Linux environments, Docker, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
A good understanding of the modules for microfinance processes, loan management, and financial accounting
Good in analyzing, solving problems, and talking to others
Skills that are preferred:
Experience with mobile money services like MTN and Airtel
Experience with microfinance, fintech, or digital banking systems
Knowledge of how KYC works, how to onboard clients, and how credit scoring systems work
