Job Summary:
Baikal Financial Services is looking for a Collection Officer to make sure that clients pay back their loans, including taking back financed motorcycles ("recovery bikes") when necessary, while following all company policies and legal requirements.
To keep good relationships and protect the company's reputation, the job requires professionalism, negotiation skills, and good communication.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Look over the list of accounts that are past due and make plans to collect them;
- To get back money that is owed on loans, contact, visit, and write to debtors.
- Talk to clients about payment plans and teach them about their options for paying.
- Follow the law and the rules to take back motorcycles from clients who don't pay.
- Take the motorcycles that have been recovered to the company's designated yard.
- Keep precise records of all collection and repossession efforts.
- Work with the Recovery Supervisor and branch management to keep an eye on how the arrears are doing.
- Make and give reports every day, week, and month.
- Follow professional rules in all field operations
Qualifications and Work History:
- At least a diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a similar discipline
- 3–4 years of experience in loan collection, debt recovery, or a related sector
- Valid Class A motorbike permit for field work; a deep awareness of Uganda's debt recovery laws; strong abilities in negotiating, communication, and customer service; and the ability to use computers and keep records and reports.
