Project Manager (Team Leader) with support from the Deputy Team Leader in ITC
Job Summary
The market systems development specialist will work with the Project Manager (Team Leader) and Deputy Team Leader, as well as the rest of the project team They will also help organize and check the quality of the work done by foreign and local consultants recruited during the project to help with the implementation of project interventions, or as the Team Leader says
Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Help the project team construct market systems development interventions based on the results of the market systems assessments in the dairy and/or tourism sectors, with help from ILO and ITC experts To do this, they will talk to constituents, people in the market, and other partners in development
With help from the project team, work with both the commercial and public sectors to design, carry out, and keep an eye on market systems development interventions These pilot programs will be set up to deal with systemic problems in the dairy and/or tourism industries They will try to create jobs and raise the incomes of men and women living in poverty by increasing trade and the growth of small and medium-sized businesses
Work with important national and local stakeholders, such as people in the public and private sectors This includes regular communication and visits to project partners (both private and public) in the areas where the project is taking place
Work with other team members to make sure that interventions and staff are working together and that everyone has something to do
Create, evaluate, and advise intervention business models and scale-up plans to help more people use the tested market systems development interventions or to get other people to join in and copy the pilots
Help the results measurement and monitoring and evaluation officers create, implement, and regularly update the monitoring and results measurement (MRM) system Focus on creating business models, results chains, measurement plans, and tools for collecting data
Help the knowledge and communications officer make learning and communication products by giving them technical information, directing field visits, setting up meetings, and giving technical advice to products
Write reports and presentations that let project management, donors, and stakeholders know how the project is doing and what the results are for the activities and interventions This involves giving information about areas that need improvement and making sure that programming changes are made in keeping with the MSD approach
Be the main technical resource and counselor on the strategy to developing market systems and the feasibility of new business models
Help plan workshops, trainings, and events, and help make sure that existing ILO training materials are relevant to the project's goals and the local environment
Make sure that all actions, from the beginning to the conclusion, focus on gender issues and work toward gender equality and women's economic empowerment
To improve your skills in the market systems development approach, you should do MSD onboarding activities, take part in internal and external training, events, and peer learning exchanges, like the ILO's MSD Hub or regional exchanges with other ILO projects Work with ITC support workers to learn more about trade, particularly how to promote exports
Do any other tasks that the team leader or deputy team leader asks you to do

Education
A bachelor's degree or the equivalent in business administration, business, economics, international development, or another technical discipline that is applicable
Experience
At least three years of job experience in the business, public, or development sectors Having worked on a market systems development project, a private sector development program, or in the private sector will be a big plus It will be helpful if you have worked on trade-related projects before, especially ones that promote exports
Languages: Very good at speaking and writing English Skills: A good understanding of the market systems development strategy Knowledge and experience with business models Research and analytical skills, as well as the capacity to come up with and carry out new ways to solve tough problems Being knowledgeable of politics and how social and economic forces affect them Ability to respond to changes in the project and things that are important to it with flexibility and change project activities and processes as needed The ability to write Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others Ability to understand and follow the rules, laws, policies, and procedures that apply Ability to keep good working ties with important people Ability to handle conflicting priorities Quickly learning how to use new software and systems Good knowledge of PC software like Microsoft Office, which includes word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation applications Ability to function in a multicultural setting and show behavior and attitudes that are gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory
