We are looking for a skilled and experienced Packaging Team Leader to work in Kampala Uganda on behalf of our client in the industrial sector

Summary of the Job

The Packaging Team Leader is in charge of directing and encouraging a group of packaging operators making sure that production schedules are met and keeping the workplace safe and productive. 

 The job includes making sure that the packaging process goes smoothly that quality is checked and that the workplace is clean

Main Tasks and Duties

• Lead inspire and direct a group of people who work in packaging
• Help the Food Controller with things like making reports and packaging schedules
• Keep an eye on the packing process to make sure that the right amounts and quality criteria are satisfied
• Plan and coordinate the priorities workflow and schedules for packaging
• Find and report problems with operations and maintenance to avoid delays
• To keep packing machinery from breaking down plan regular checks and repairs
• Fix problems with packaging including broken equipment or bad quality
• Make sure that workers are assigned to the right tasks for effective packaging operations
• Make sure that quality control is in place at every stage of the packing process
• Make sure that safety rules and procedures are followed to reduce the number of accidents and risks
• Make sure that corporate rules and policies are followed
• Finish packing tasks before the due date
• Get packaging equipment and keep an eye on how well it works
• Tell the Food Controller how the packaging is going
• Work with other sections to plan and carry out packaging tasks
• Settle labor issues as needed
• Tell the team about daily goals performance updates and important information
• Keep accurate records note how much material you use and complete all process control documents

Skills Experience and Qualifications

• Qualification: A diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering or a field that is related
• Experience: At least three years of experience working in a busy biscuit factory
• Skills: Good in leading motivating and talking to people
• The ability to find and fix problems with packaging
• Knowing how biscuits are made the machines and tools used and how they work
• Knowing how to follow quality control processes and standards
• Knowing the rules and procedures for safety
• Very good at figuring out how to solve problems with packaging
• Willingness to work extra hours when needed to fulfill deadlines
• Being able to communicate well in both speech and writing
• The ability to plan and manage time
• Good at figuring things out and solving problems
• Willingness to learn new things and be able to handle new situations
• Can work alone or with others
• Preferred: Having worked in a similar field before
