It has its main office in Uganda and a country office in Tanzania We are looking for a qualified and experienced Principal – Technical Vocational Institute to work in Tororo Uganda on behalf of our client in the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector

Who Reports To

Chairperson of the Board of Governors

Summary of Role

The Principal will be in charge of the Vocational Institute's academics administration and finances. They will also be in charge of running the school on a day-to-day basis and leading vocational and training programs

Main Duties

Plan organize lead and coordinate teaching programs and activities for both staff and students
Within the limits specified by the education authorities and the Governing Board guide and decide on educational plans and programs
Make sure that the Board of Governors' approved monies are used properly and on time
Give the institute permission to make obligations
Take care of the resources that the institute gets keeps or gets rid of
Set up good mechanisms for internal control risk management and internal audit
Be the Secretary to the Board of Governors
Make sure that institutional activities and resources are planned budgeted and held accountable in the right way
Take care of the institution's money making sure it is used wisely and kept safe
Start development initiatives and get the resources needed to carry them out
Plan and lead meetings at the institution
Do any other tasks that the appropriate authorities provide you

Skills Experience and Personal Traits

Requirement: A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline from a well-known university or school
A degree in Technical Teacher/Vocational Instructor training from an accredited school
Registered with the Ministry of Sports and Education
Experience: You must have been a qualified Technical Teacher for at least 5 years and a senior manager for at least 3 years
Knowledge: A good understanding of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) field
Knowing how to run vocational schools and technical colleges
Knowledge of how schools are run how effective they are and the rules standards and practices that govern higher education
Personal Traits: Good people skills the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech the ability to stay focused and the ability to motivate yourself
Being honest and having high morals
Must be a mature Christian who can help the institute grow in the Christian faith
Language: Able to speak Jopadhola Atesot and Swahili well
