Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is looking for a School Librarian.  This is a high-level academic and administrative position that is in charge of giving strategic direction for the growth oversight administration and coordination of all library and information services 

The School Librarian will turn the library into a modern digital-first center of knowledge that helps MUBS with its teaching learning and research goals The best candidate will be a creative information professional with a clear plan for how to use technology in library services and promote a culture of study and scholarship

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and make sure that the School Library and its resources are managed well and efficiently
• Collection Development: Build and take care of both physical and digital library collections to help MUBS's academic and research programs
• Systems Management: Create run and keep up integrated library systems and make sure that digital resources are easy to get to and work with other campus MIS
• Space Planning: Plan and analyze the library's space needs to make sure it is a good place for teaching learning and research
• Information Literacy: Be in charge of teaching students and staff how to use information
• Partnerships: Oversee library workers and cooperate with outside groups and consortia to improve the sharing of resources

• At least 12 years of professional library work experience
• A strong research profile with nine (9) new publications in their field of study with the applicant being the first author on at least 50% of them
• You need to have experience teaching people how to use information
• Must have a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) that is still good
• You must be a Ugandan citizen who is less than 55 years old
• The candidate must be creative motivated and have great communication and relationship management abilities
