The primary role of this position, which reports to the Credit Underwriting Manager, is to objectively assess the risk of all loans and make decisions that adhere to Absa's policies and procedures

Experience | Three years of experience in credit evaluation, credit underwriting, credit analysis, and credit sanctioning |

Certification for Credit Analysts (CCA)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Certified Risk Professional (CRP)
Training in Moody's or S&P credit risk
Requirements for training that are specific to the job:

Awareness of information security

Preferred:
Credit Analysis Certification Training from any school that is well-known
Skills and abilities in technology:
Being able to look at balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements is a skill in financial statement analysis
Credit Risk Analysis: Knowing how credit risk cycles work, how to grade risk, and how to evaluate a borrower
Loan structuring: Knowing the conditions of the loan, the covenants, and how to evaluate collateral
Understanding of rules and regulations: knowing about lending rules and how to follow them (e.g. FIA, IFRS, Basel III)
Knowledge of financial software and tools, such as Excel (including formulas and pivot tables), credit analysis software like Moody's Risk Calc, credit assessment tools, and loan origination systems
Analytical thinking: The capacity to read data and make good decisions
Paying attention to detail means making sure that credit evaluations and paperwork are correct
Communication skills: You need to be able to write and speak clearly and professionally for loan memos and presentations to stakeholders
Making decisions: Sure of making lending decisions based on data
Time management: the ability to handle several applications at once and achieve deadlines even while under pressure
