Job Summary
Busitema University one of the best public universities in Uganda is looking for Graduate Fellows to work in its Faculty of Health Sciences.
These jobs are for new or recent graduates who want to get valuable teaching and research experience as they continue their education. The jobs which are in several departments such as Nursing Anaesthesia Pharmacology and Medicine are based at the main campus in Tororo They are a great way to get started in an academic career at a well-known university
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching Assistance: Help senior faculty members teach undergraduate courses This could mean leading tutorials practical sessions and seminars
- Student Supervision: Help undergraduate students with both the theoretical and practical parts of their studies by giving them academic advice and support
- Research: Be involved in active research projects in the department and be encouraged to do their own research that fits with the department's main areas of interest
- Academic Development: The fellows are expected to enroll in and work toward higher degrees (such a Master's or PhD) while they are striving to improve their academic credentials
- Administrative Duties: Do any other administrative tasks for the department that the head of the department asks you to do
Academic Requirements

| For Junior Graduate Fellows: You must have at least a Bachelor's degree (Honors) in the discipline you want to study (for example Nursing Anaesthesia Pharmacy Library and Information Science) from a recognized school You must also have at least an Upper Second-Class degree |
| Senior Graduate Fellows usually need to have a Master's degree in a field that is related to their work (for example Internal Medicine Nursing Biochemistry or Anatomy) The post says that they seek a Senior Fellow in Laboratory (Physiology) which means they need someone with a Master's degree in Medical Physiology or a comparable lab science |
Skills and Experience
- Having taught or demonstrated anything at the university level before is helpful but not necessarily necessary
- Good at research analysis and academic writing
- Great skills in talking to people and giving presentations
- A desire to do well in school and a love of teaching and learning
- Ability to work well with others in a team with people from different fields
