Job Summary

The Materials Technician is responsible for managing materials, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company policies. The role involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials while maintaining up-to-date records in McDermott’s material management systems.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Perform material management tasks, including unloading, receiving, counting, picking, packing, and issuing materials with high accuracy
  • Obtain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all Dangerous Goods
  • Maintain accurate records, such as Goods Receiving Notes (GRN) and Material Receiving Checklists (MRCL)
  • Use the Smart Materials management system to track transactions
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures for material management to ensure smooth operations
  • Comply with McDermott’s safety regulations and participate in safety initiatives and training
  • Apply scientific and material management techniques to address workplace challenges

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent (HSD/GED/IGCSE) in a related field
  • 0–3 years of experience in material management or a similar industry
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Effective communication and writing skills
