Syrup Preparation and Analysis | Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of all manufactured syrups. Prepare batch as per the production plan. Ensure correct amount of ingredients weighed for batch preparation. Transfer correct amount of sugar in the finished syrup tank as per the recipe. Ensure there is correct flavor before use, checking batch number, product code, and expiry date. Conduct censoring of treated water before starting batch preparation. Ensure there is enough flavor and dry ingredients for batch preparation at the beginning and end of every shift. |
Quality and Safety Compliance | Ensure process is run as per the quality mandate and appoint schedule of testing. Ensure food safety requirements, GHK/hygiene/process standards are met, and take appropriate action if required. Support corrective action to online quality in case of defects in product. Ensure operational safety is done before machine start-up. |
Machine and Process Operation | Operate premix and ensure proper start-up and end-off of machine. Support CIP operation (e.g., line CIP and syrup tank). Ensure proper jumper connection during batch preparation. Handle troubleshooting in the syrup room. |
Maintenance and Cleaning | Ensure CIP is run as per the CIP mandate and maintain proper data recording. Ensure basic running maintenance is done to ensure quality performance. Follow the weekly routine shutdown process in the syrup room, ensuring no syrup remains in the tank before shutdown. |
Data Recording and Reporting | Write all key shift information in the log book and ensure proper handover and take-over during shift change. Record physiochemical analysis in the daily syrup log book. Carry out CD preparation of syrup and perform Brix, pH, TA tests. Ensure calibration of weighing balance and all instruments in the syrup room, and record the data. Maintain syrup log book in accordance with UNBS standards. Report any anomalies in the syrup-making process. |
Material and Equipment Checks | Ensure all raw materials received from the store meet Hariss International standards by conducting proper checks. Check all drain valves and ensure sampling points are closed during transfer of flavor, dry ingredients, and sugar in the finished syrup tank. |
Additional Duties | Perform any other task as per management request. |
Requirement | Description |
---|---|
Education | BSc in Chemistry, Biology, Food Sciences, and/or HND or equivalent from a reputable institution. |
Experience | At least 2-3 years hands-on experience in the food industry. Beverage manufacture, particularly carbonated soft drinks and/or juice, is a distinct advantage. |
Key Requirements | Familiarity with carbonated soft drinks and/or juice manufacture technology. Basic knowledge of analysis on sugar, simple syrup, and final products. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene handling techniques. |
