Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use data mining methods and statistical analysis on big structured and unstructured datasets
- Create machine learning models utilizing distributed data processing methods
- Write, test, and keep scientific models and algorithms up to date in R or Python.
- Process, clean, and check the accuracy of data for analysis.
- Find trends, patterns, and differences in large datasets.
- Work together with the Data Science Guild and others from your department.
- Turn business needs into results with data science.
- Put model outputs into systems that are already in use
- Create solutions for mathematical and statistical modeling.
- Help predict the quality of data outcomes and the resources needed
- Use approaches for data profiling and visualization to describe the features of data.
- Share your results and insights with people in the business.
- Show trends and patterns in complicated datasets clearly and concisely.
- Make suggestions based on the examination of the data.
- Make sure that modeling solutions are long-lasting and useful.
- Work with data that isn't structured, like streams and pictures
Skills and Qualifications:
- A first degree in information studies, information technology, or a related discipline
- 3–4 years of experience dealing with unstructured data
- Knowledge of data flows, architecture, ETL, and data processing
- Experience finding patterns and mining data in big datasets
- You should be good at programming in machine learning languages like R or Python. You should also know how to use Matlab, Java, or a similar language.
- Understanding the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Kafka)
- Familiar with data science toolkits like SAS, R, and SPSS
- Being good at using data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
- Experience in software development and engineering
- Knowledge of the processes and products used in financial services
- Knowledge of technical business intelligence
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and data principles
- Experience managing projects
- Experience constructing models (credit scoring, propensity models, churn)
- Skills in analyzing data and managing databases.
