Job Summary:
The Finance and funding Assistant will help with the EpiC project's financial management in Uganda by doing accounting work, processing payments, and helping local partners handle their funding.
This job makes sure that all financial records and reports are correct and that the organization and donors' rules are followed.

Main Tasks and Duties:
- Analyze financial data to plan and keep an eye on monthly project costs
- Send out monthly financial reports to both internal and external stakeholders
- Be a source of knowledge on federal funding laws and fiscal policies
- Give management advice on how to make company decisions around money.
- Set up and keep methods for keeping track of accounting records.
- Create ways to keep track of things and report on finances.
- Check invoices and help with writing annual project proposals.
- Give money to local partners to help them get funding.
- Help local partners send in invoices and reports on their finances.
- Work with project leaders to fix problems with spending and budgets.
- Talk to management about making proposals and keeping an eye on the budget.
- Make sure that projects stay within their budgets and finish on schedule.
- Use electronic and banking tools to process payments.
- Keep track of financial records and help with audits.
- Use the rules and procedures that are already in place for managing finances and grants.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or something similar
- A partial or full CPA/ACCA qualification
- At least three years of experience in accounting or finance
- Preferred: experience working for an NGO
- Articulate English communication skills
- Professional and friendly interactions with clients and staff
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Understanding of budgeting and fiscal control processes
- Understanding of general office practices and administrative procedures
- Great at math and analysis
- Good at thinking critically and solving problems
- Ability to use spreadsheet and database applications
- Ability to keep private information private
- Skills for checking and analyzing financial data
- Ability to prepare and present reports
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work together and coordinate with others
Requirements for Technology:
- Knowledgemerzen of Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms including Skype, Zoom, and Teams
- Knowledge of mobile technologies
- Experience with accounting software
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems
Demands on the body:
- Work atmosphere in an office
- Longer time spent on the computer
- Working on the keyboard over and over again
- Sitting and standing for long periods of time
- Sometimes lifting up to 5 pounds
- Less than 10% of travel is within the country.
