Job Summary

BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd (BUBL) is looking for a Finance Intern to join its dynamic team. This is a great chance to learn and grow The goal of this job is to give you real-world experience with the main financial activities of a major bank 

The intern will help with payments taxes bank reconciliations and ledger administration giving them a full understanding of banking finance. This is a great place for a recent graduate to start their career in finance in the banking industry

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Make sure that the head office accounts are balanced every day and every week
• Help with making regulatory reports like the BOU weekly liquidity return
• Help with getting the daily branch liquidity report and looking at it
• Help make sure that statutory payments (NSSF PAYE WHT VAT etc) are made on time
• Help make schedules for general ledger accounts for assets and liabilities that have been assigned
• Enter transactions into the core banking system and help check payment vouchers
• File treasury papers and get WHT and FD certificates on schedule
• Help the finance team answer questions from the audit and put the suggestions into action

Qualifications for School

Experience and Skills

• Good at math and analysis
• A basic understanding of how to do accounting and report on finances
• Good at using Microsoft Office programs especially Excel
• Very careful and precise with details
• A strong work ethic and a desire to learn
• You don't need to have any professional expertise although any hands-on experience is helpful
