Job Summary

The Head of Business Growth at BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd will develop, implement, and monitor the Bank’s business growth strategy, aligning with organizational objectives. This role focuses on expanding assets, liabilities, and the client base while ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth, leveraging strategic partnerships and digital innovation.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Business Growth Strategy aligned with the Bank’s mission and vision
  • Establish strategic partnerships to enhance value creation and mitigate market risks
  • Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on strategic plans, budgets, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor departmental performance against strategic goals and address performance gaps proactively

Business Growth and Development

  • Drive initiatives to increase cross-selling and customer adoption of products
  • Ensure growth of the loan book while maintaining a high-quality, well-managed portfolio
  • Oversee the entire credit process, from client acquisition to loan approval, credit analysis, and recovery
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and emerging trends
  • Lead the Bank’s expansion into new markets and implement growth-focused go-to-market strategies

Savings Mobilization

  • Develop and execute strategies to boost deposits and grow the customer base
  • Leverage new delivery channels and technology to enhance savings growth through improved relationship management and customer experience

Digital Financial Services

  • Promote innovation and digital transformation to improve product accessibility and customer experience
  • Use technology to enhance financial inclusion, operational efficiency, and balance digital convenience with personalized service
  • Identify and address barriers to financial access, literacy, and security for the Bank’s customers

Qualifications, Education, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of banking experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Proven experience in microfinance or retail banking
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans
  • Strong understanding of Uganda’s banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent networking, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in customer service strategy, policy formulation, and performance management
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Strong decision-making, time-management, and analytical skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence
