Summary
World Vision International is looking for a Regional Audit Manager (RAM) for its East Africa Region (EAR) which is situated in Kampala Uganda. This is a high-level leadership position that is in charge of delivering independent impartial assurance and advising services to a group of National Offices that together bring in about $57 million a year
The RAM will be in charge of a group of auditors keep important relationships with stakeholders (including National Directors and Local Boards) and help improve the organization's governance risk management and internal control systems
Main Duties
- Leadership and Strategy: Give National Leadership and Local Boards strategic advice and insights on risk controls and governance Oversee and lead a group of Regional Senior Auditors and Auditors
- Involve Stakeholders: Give quarterly audit results and strategic trend assessments to the National Office Leadership and the local Audit and Risk Committees (ARCs) Act as an advisor on these committees
- Planning and Budgeting: Help the Regional Audit Director establish a risk-based regional internal audit plan and set the team's annual budget
- Talent Management: Make sure that the audit team in the designated portfolio is hired trained developed and taken care of
- Quality Assurance: Make sure that all audit engagements are done to the highest professional standards (in line with the Global Internal Audit Standards) and that the results are communicated clearly and followed up on
- Risk and Investigations: Help the Investigations unit with fraud and ethical issues and be an active member of the Regional Investigations Oversight Committee
- Innovation: Get the team to use new technologies (such data analytics) and improve how they do audits talk to each other and use technology
Required Skills and Experience
Education
- A bachelor's degree in finance or a related discipline (an MBA is a plus)
Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Accountant or anything similar
- You must be a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Experience
- At least five years of internal or external audit work
- At least three years of experience as a manager
- Proven experience in risk-based internal audits and getting to know executive leadership and boards
Skills
- "systems thinking" "strategic thinking" and a good understanding of business
- Great at leading and managing teams
- Excellent written and spoken English communication abilities
- Good at working with others and getting them to do what you want
- Good at using MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- Working with people from different cultures in an international NGO (INGO)
- Knowledge of data mining analytics and audit software
- Basic abilities in IT auditing and/or experience with fraud investigations (CFE certification is a plus)
