The IT Security Specialist - Infrastructure, who reports to the Manager-Cyber Defense, is in charge of keeping the organization's important infrastructure systems safe 

This includes servers, storage, networks, and cloud platforms They do this by designing, implementing, and managing strong security controls that follow security policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices

Main Responsibilities

  • Set up, keep an eye on, and keep up infrastructure security measures in all types of environments, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid
  • Check the security of servers, network devices, databases, and virtualization platforms to find weaknesses and settings that are wrong
  • Work with the Infrastructure and Network teams to make sure that systems are designed securely, patched, and made more secure
  • Handle and improve security products including firewalls, endpoint protection platforms (EPP/EDR), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and configuration management tools
  • Take action when security problems affect infrastructure and lead efforts to find the reason and fix it
  • Make sure that your infrastructure security baselines, access control standards, and hardening guides are up to date with standards like ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks
  • Help with business continuity and disaster recovery planning by focusing on making infrastructure more resilient and having safe failover procedures
  • Make sure that the parts of the infrastructure follow the rules and regulations (such as PCI DSS and local financial rules)
  • Help with audits both inside and outside the company by giving proof and answers on the security of the infrastructure
  • Keep up with new threats, weaknesses, and technologies that could affect infrastructure environments

Academic Qualifications

QualificationDetails
Bachelor's DegreeComputer Science, IT, Engineering, or another field that uses numbers
CertificationsInformation security certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security, AWS/Azure Security

Experience

ExperienceDetails
Systems or Network AdministrationAt least four years
Banking and Information SecurityPrevious experience at a company level (a plus)

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • Have worked with firewalls for web applications before
  • Knowledge and experience with technology and methods for protecting infrastructure
  • Experience with Unix and Windows and the ability to write Python scripts
  • A good understanding of how to put platform security into place
  • A good understanding of how to put cloud security into place
