Job Summary
The Loss Prevention Supervisor (Pre-Opening) will ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and assets during the setup of a new Marriott property in Kampala. The role involves patrolling, monitoring security systems, responding to emergencies, and supporting staff training for a successful hotel launch.
Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Patrol all property areas, secure rooms, and assist guests with room access
- Conduct emergency response drills, daily safety inspections, investigations, interviews, and key control audits
- Monitor alarm systems and closed-circuit televisions
- Authorize, monitor, and document access to secure areas
- Assist guests and employees during emergencies, providing first aid or CPR if needed
- Collect information and prepare confidential reports
- Resolve disturbances and address potential safety hazards per company policies
- Handle complaints and remove unauthorized individuals from the property
- Ensure compliance with alcohol beverage control regulations
- Use appropriate code responses to request assistance
- Provide proper documentation to employees
- Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching staff, serving as a role model and point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy
- Adhere to safety and security policies, report incidents, and complete required training and certifications
- Maintain professional appearance, protect proprietary information, and safeguard company assets
- Greet guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine gratitude
- Communicate clearly and professionally, ensuring accurate documentation
- Foster positive working relationships and support team goals
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and propose process improvements
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects
- Use computers and point-of-sale systems for work-related tasks
- Perform physical tasks, including standing or walking for entire shifts, moving objects up to 50 pounds independently or 75 pounds with assistance, and navigating tight spaces or stairs
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- At least 2 years of related work experience in security, hospitality, or loss prevention
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
- No license or certification required, though some jurisdictions may have additional licensing or registration requirements

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina for extended standing, walking, and lifting
- Ability to respond quickly in high-pressure or emergency situations
