Job Summary

Marriott International is looking for a Multi-Property Director of Finance (Pre-Opening) to help with a new business in Kampala, Uganda This is a senior leadership position that is in charge of coming up with and putting into action financial plans for several properties before they open The person who gets the job will be a major member of the Executive Committee and will be in charge of making sure that the new hotels are financially successful and run smoothly from the start

Important Duties

Strategic Financial Planning:

• Make and carry out yearly budgets and corporate strategies
• Look at market trends and financial data to find ways to make more money
• Make sure your financial predictions are correct
• Find ways to save money and boost productivity
• Put in place controls to protect assets and manage company risks

Leading Finance and Accounting Teams:

• Lead, influence, and motivate the finance team and other departments
• Keep an eye on the audit processes inside and outside the company
• Give team members performance reviews and make goals for their growth

Managing Stakeholders:

• Talk to owners in a way that makes sense to them and understand what they care about and what they want to do
• Give the General Manager and executive committee advice on money matters
• Make sure that the property's working capital and cash flow meet the needs of the owner and the brand

Accounting and Compliance:

• Make sure that the Profit and Loss (P&L) records and the balance sheet are correct
• Make sure that management contracts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and tax laws are all followed
• Turn in all reports on time

Human Resources:

• Make sure that property policies are enforced fairly and consistently
• Make sure that new recruits get the right orientation and job-specific training and that cross-training is done
