The MEAL Coordinator will be in charge of putting the MEAL system and SCI MEAL methodology into action for the UNIQLO Project in the Palabek Refugee Settlement
The job includes guiding the implementation of the MEAL system keeping an eye on program quality rolling out accountability programs helping with program evaluations managing the MEAL budget and overseeing MEAL volunteers
The person in this job will also be in charge of MEAL capacity building for all program personnel and partners They may also be asked to help with emergency response operations
Main Duties
- Monitoring assessing evaluating and reporting on programs
- Lead the rollout of strong MEAL systems and processes to measure progress toward project goals and indicators
- Use quality benchmarks to keep an eye on program quality and make sure that the results are used to make decisions about the program
- Set up and use regular monitoring systems at different levels of program implementation
- Help with child-focused and child-led program implementation by getting children involved and leading M&E
- Keep track of program improvement actions and let area senior management know about important issues
- Help with internal and external program/project evaluations and collect project baseline data
- Lead the management of information systems and the rollout of mobile data collection
- Collect data and report on SCI global indicators and total reach reports

- Help with learning activities like program review workshops and lessons learned reports
- Help with writing down best practices and lessons learned to improve organizational learning
- Encourage beneficiaries and children to take an active role in monitoring and evaluating projects
- Set up and run the Complaints and Response Mechanism CRM
- Make sure that accountability systems involve beneficiaries and stakeholders in evaluations and research
- Managing Partnerships
- Help evaluate a partner's ability to run excellent programs and offer MEAL support when needed
- Make sure that partners follow through on MEAL parts of projects
- Representation and Advocacy
- Work with other agencies and the government taking part in Interagency Coordination forums
- Help with communications and media work by checking case studies and program success stories
- Speak up for the unique needs of children in joint MEAL events that are coordinated by more than one agency
- Managing mentoring and developing staff
- Lead and give technical support to the MEAL team and volunteers
- Train and share knowledge with staff and partners to improve their MEAL systems
- Find out what training needs exist and provide training to fill in the gaps
- Make sure that MEAL staff and volunteers have access to the right professional development opportunities
Academic Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in social development or a similar field
Experience and Qualifications
- Important Requirements
- At least three years of experience coordinating or implementing M&E systems in a large INGO
- Proven experience with data tracking evaluation and M&E methodology
- Strong research analytical both qualitative and quantitative and report-writing skills
- Good at participatory research methodologies
- Good at planning coordinating and reporting
- Good English communication and people skills
- Being able to use Word Excel Statistical Packages and PowerPoint on a computer
- Ability to work with people from different cultures and locations
