Description

The Project Manager is in charge of the UNIQLO Project which is a child safety and education program that is part of the Uganda refugee response.

The job includes full programmatic and operational leadership such as planning implementing managing partnerships following donor rules managing human resources building capacity monitoring and evaluating managing the budget and reporting to both internal and external parties.

The person in this job is in charge of coordinating and overseeing all of UNIQLO's project deliverables at intervention sites They may also have to help with emergency humanitarian responses

Main Duties

  • Strategic Management and Coordination
  • Make sure that UNIQLO activities in settlements and reception centers are coordinated and carried out according to project design Save the Children and donor requirements
  • Set up maintain and strengthen connections for project management and implementation
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Represent the project at regional-level meetings with partners and key stakeholders
  • Make sure that quality reports are submitted on time according to reporting requirements
  • Work with Technical Thematic Teams to make sure that programs are delivered documented and reported on progress in a high-quality way
  • Use success stories best practices and stories of big changes with pictures to show how the project has affected people
  • Work with the Partnership Manager to make sure that partners deliver the program effectively
  • Encourage people in the community to take part and own the project for long-lasting effects
  • Planning and carrying out operations
  • Lead the planning and development of detailed implementation plans phased budgets implementation monitoring documentation and reporting in the region
  • Oversee the implementation and budget performance to make sure they are in line with program plans and donor requirements
  • Help project personnel and partners produce yearly plans that follow UNIQLO Project design and SCI rules
  • produce sure that project plans satisfy the standards and deadlines set
  • Help partners make plans that fit within the project's budget and are cost-effective
  • Work with implementing partners to make realistic plans for how to carry out the project and finances that are broken down into phases
  • Managing Money and Budgets
  • Keep an eye on and oversee the project budget to make sure that everyone is responsible and that the money is being used correctly according to donor criteria
  • Work with the regional office and headquarters finance teams to manage the program budget
  • Keep an eye on how well the budget is doing compared to specific implementation plans phased budgets and Global KPIs
  • Help implementation teams keep an eye on their budgets using trackers and BvA reports
  • Build partners' skills in financial management and make sure they are held accountable
  • Make changes to the budget that meet donor needs and SCI approval standards
  • Managing and growing partnerships
  • Help partners grow their capacity and put their plans into action
  • Help stakeholders connect with each other at the district and regional levels
  • Make sure that programs are delivered at a high level by managing partners well
  • Reporting on the program and finances
  • Write narrative and financial reports on time and of good quality for the donor schedules at the conclusion of the project and during the project
  • Before you send in the program's financial reports make sure they follow the donor's rules
  • Hold quarterly meetings to examine progress and talk about performance concerns
  • Do a Budget vs Actual analysis and explain the differences
  • Getting stakeholders involved and representing them
  • Work with other SCI programs to improve the effectiveness and overall support for children
  • Make sure that the program is represented at meetings workshops and donor networks with stakeholders
  • Keep in touch with partners and national stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Technical Control
  • Work with Technical Advisors to help and guide the project team partners and stakeholders
  • Managing Human Resources
  • Give all project staff line management supervision and development
  • Work with supervisees to set keep track of and review performance goals
  • Give staff ongoing training coaching and feedback to help them grow
  • Find out what program teams need to learn and make specific plans to help them grow

Academic Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in education or the humanities

Experience and Qualifications

Important Requirements

  • At least five years of experience running programs including at least three years in a management role
  • Experience managing programs that combine education child protection child rights governance or disaster risk reduction
  • Strong planning and strategic thinking skills
  • Good at using computers and writing clear documents
  • Good Qualifications
  • Understanding of Save the Children's systems and how they function with other organizations
  • Experience working with local partners and the District Local Government
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Great at talking to people getting along with them and making deals
  • Cultural understanding and the ability to work in a variety of international settings
  • A willingness to work in hard-to-reach locations under difficult conditions
  • Ability to work longer hours amid humanitarian responses
