Description
The Project Officer Education will be in charge of planning carrying out keeping an eye on and reporting on educational activities as part of the Leave No One Behind program.
The job is to help kids learn better by using the Quality Learning Environment QLE Framework's four pillars which deal with emotional and psychological needs physical health active learning and community involvement.
The job also helps with Teachers Professional Development programs and might have to help with emergency humanitarian responses
Main Duties
- Making plans and keeping everything in order
- Make monthly or quarterly work plans that are in line with Detailed Implementation Plans DIPs
- Lead planning at the community and settlement levels to make sure resources are used well
- Coordinate education activities under the UNIQLO project in the areas where they are needed
- Go to meetings of the settlement coordination and education working groups
- Help staff and partners unpack and roll out new projects
- Putting the program into action
- Make sure that all education project activities are carried out as planned and in line with SC regulations
- Give technical support to education partners volunteers and facilitators
- Plan and submit activity ideas and budgets for approval
- Check how much of the monthly budget is being used versus the work plans
- Use project sustainability and exit strategies throughout the project cycle
- Hold regular meetings with stakeholders and supervise technical support
- Reporting Monitoring and Evaluation
- Help put in place frameworks for accountability and learning
- Keep track of activities every month and performance indicators every three months
- Keep track of best practices case studies and success stories
- Make sure to send out monthly quarterly and semi-annual progress reports on schedule
- Make sure that project documents are filed correctly for audits and reports
- Building skills and giving technical help
- Teach teachers and community resource people about the QLE Framework
- Give teachers headteachers and district education workers technical support
- Do needs assessments to find gaps in the education sector
- Take part in project reviews and the formulation of interventions
- Working together and in partnership
- Work with the District Education Department and other NGOs and agencies
- Go to settlement partner coordination meetings for education and child protection
- Get the community involved in planning and keeping an eye on education projects
- Work with other SCI projects to make child support work better together
Academic Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in education BA EDUC or something similar
Experience and Qualifications
- Important Requirements
- At least three years of direct experience running an education program with an international NGO
- Fluency in either Acholi or Ngakarimojong language
- Understanding of several ways to program schooling to improve reading and math skills
- Experience with development programming that uses participatory tools and methods
- Great abilities in communication monitoring and evaluation
- Qualifications that are good to have
- Ability to ride a motorcycle
- Experience teaching at the primary level
- Experience working with local partners and the District Local Government
- Very good at analyzing and making plans for the future
- Good at writing and using computers
- Being willing to work in hard-to-reach places under tough situations
