Job Summary
The Outlet Assistant is responsible for actively participating in the Outlet’s operations, including stock receipt, weighing, icing, housekeeping, preparing customer orders, and promoting excellent customer relations The role ensures precision, quality, and efficiency at the Outlet, contributing to sales targets and customer service while adhering to safety and hygiene standards
Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Participate in the overall performance of the Outlet by regularly coming up with initiatives to drive sales growth and actively engaging in sales activities
Drive and deliver excellent customer service in store appearance, fish display, stock ordering, SKU layout, and selling
Ensure customer complaints are followed up or escalated, securing satisfactory solutions for both the customer and Yalelo
Receive stock supplies and organize inventory, ensuring fridges are always stocked to meet customer needs
Perform regular quality assurance checks on fish, ensuring proper handling, storage, processing, and packing, and enforce proper icing techniques to maintain freshness
Act as the chief custodian and enforcer of the YU red stock SOP in the Outlet
Develop and maintain knowledge of fish products, including new offers, and share that knowledge confidently with customers and colleagues
Take and prepare customer orders, including packing and entering transactions into the POS
Assist the Supervisor with banking sales revenues, including cash reconciliations and filling change requirements
Support the Outlet supervisor with cash register operations, sales capturing in the POS, correct pricing, inventory control, receipting to customers, and end-of-day stock reconciliations
Maintain outstanding hygiene standards for all store facilities and equipment to meet food safety guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and neatness at all times
Perform administrative tasks to support smooth Outlet operations, including timely submission of reports
Follow health and safety guidelines, reporting concerns or incidents to the Supervisor or relevant personnel
Conduct regular inspections of Outlet premises and equipment like fridges, POS, and weighing scales to ensure safety and functionality
Adhere to Workstream procedures, Retail SOPs, and Policies to ensure compliance
Attend scheduled training for knowledge enhancement and skill development
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Key Performance Indicators
Achievement of monthly sales target set for the Outlet
Achievement of monthly stock loss target of 0.5%
Product safety, excellent customer service, and customer satisfaction
Minimal customer complaints
Hygienic standards maintained at all times
Zero major and fatal safety incidents

Education
Minimum of Diploma or its equivalent in Business Administration or a related field Must have attained at least a Credit in Mathematics at UCE and a Principal Pass in Economics or Entrepreneurship Education at UACE
Experience
2 years’ experience in fish processing/handling or a related field is advantageous
Skills & Abilities: Customer management abilities and good customer care skills Good grasp of the English Language and local languages Must be organized and accurate Must be willing to work long hours when required Be able to work in a multicultural environment Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards Attention to detail in handling, sorting, grading, and packing fish Willingness to learn and adapt to different processing techniques Good communication skills and a positive work attitude
