Key Responsibilities

Control of Operations and Processes

  • Operate packaging plant sub-processes per Standard Operating Procedures, supporting the plant control system and ensuring process control.
  • Verify raw material quality against Company and Regional Standards, addressing deviations.
  • Prepare plant for startup, ensuring availability of utilities, documentation, and calibrated equipment per SOPs.
  • Initiate and operate packaging processes, adhering to OH+S regulations and correcting issues to maintain product standards.
  • Document non-standard operations and strictly follow Concession/Permit processes.
  • Shut down plant per Work Instructions, documenting deviations.
  • Perform cleaning, sampling, and quantifying CIP outputs, ensuring plant and work area cleanliness.
  • Control input usage, monitor stock levels, check quality, verify usage ratios, and ensure proper placement.
  • Ensure plant availability by following maintenance schedules, identifying and delegating ad hoc tasks, and assisting with root cause analysis for breakdowns.
  • Monitor process performance, track short stops, and take corrective action when targets are not met.
  • Document waste in appropriate systems, analyze trends, and identify issues or opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to upstream or downstream issues to prevent process disruptions.
  • Follow problem-solving practices and safe work procedures, applying 5S principles and housekeeping.
  • Identify and address unsafe work practices.
  • Support team members in their tasks.

Plant and Equipment Maintenance

  • Clean, lubricate, and inspect plant equipment per SOPs and maintenance schedules.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks, requesting artisan support as needed.
  • Identify maintenance issues and report to the team leader for resolution.
  • Assist Packaging Artisans with on-the-job repairs.
  • Complete documentation, including job cards and COSWIN notifications.

Quality Control and Analysis

  • Perform quality checks and analyses per SOPs, recording results in appropriate systems.
  • Monitor quality performance, conduct trend analysis, and identify issues early.
  • Coach and mentor team members on quality checks, sharing expertise.
  • Address quality issues using appropriate problem-solving techniques.

Communication

  • Participate in shift meetings, ask questions, and provide feedback.
  • Document issues and improvement opportunities on gap lists.
  • Read team dashboards and engage in target review meetings.
  • Use communication tools like shift logbooks to update team members.
  • Ensure plant performance, quality, and maintenance issues are communicated to the incoming shift.

Problem Solving

  • Use tools like Quick Fix Routines and 5 Why to resolve issues.
  • Escalate unresolved problems to the team leader.
  • Verify resolution of issues post-correction.
  • Participate in collaborative problem-solving when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze Short Interval Control charts to identify waste and process variance.
  • Document improvement opportunities on gap lists.
  • Participate in trials to enhance plant efficiency.

Voyager Plant Optimization Practices

  • Adhere to Voyager Plant Optimization principles for shift routines.
  • Focus on personal skill development and support team members per the Global Competence Framework (SKAP).
  • Engage in the company’s performance management system for personal and team performance.
