Raising The Village (RTV) is an organization that works to alleviate extreme poverty in communities that are the last to get help We work with villagers to come up with new, long-lasting ways to help families make more money and get the essential things they need, so that communities may get out of poverty for good
Summary of the Role
The Project Assistant works in the field and is in charge of putting RTV's methods for ending poverty into action This job requires a lot of community involvement, training, and monitoring to make sure that project activities are carried out well and in a way that lasts at the last mile
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Putting the project into action
Hold meetings with partner villages to examine project designs and give comments on how to improve them and their finances
Plan and help run training sessions on health, behavior change, WASH, Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), agriculture, livestock management, and health outreach
Use RTV's project methods to reach the main goal of raising household income and lowering extreme poverty, as outlined in approved plans
Make lists of the items and services needed for the project and send them to the procurement team
Check the quality and amount of goods/inputs before giving them to beneficiaries
Make monthly visits to projects to check on their progress and help community groups and homes, making sure that the projects obey the rules and keep going
Find any problems and hazards with the project and suggest ways to fix them and make things better
Hold regular meetings with community leaders and members to talk about how the initiative is doing, how many people are taking part, and how people feel about it
2. Reporting and running things
Make and keep up with detailed work plans for field activities
Write accurate and timely field reports every week and help gather information for donor proposals and reports
Go to weekly staff and cluster team meetings and take part in them to talk about progress, problems, and what needs to be done next
Send in weekly financial requests, submissions, and accountabilities to the Senior Project Officer
Take pictures of project activities and make sure they are shared for the data repository
3. Checking and Evaluating
Give the Project Officer and program team regular comments and suggestions on how to make RTV's methods and work better
Suggest activities that might need to be repeated, evaluated, or added to make sure that projects survive a long time and that people's lives in the community get better

Good at training and helping adults learn
Excellent written and spoken English
Fluency in the native languages of the duty station (Luganda for Kassanda and Acholi for Amuru)

A good grasp of the principles of community-based development
Great at keeping things organized and able to handle shifting deadlines and priorities
Can work alone and as part of a team
The ability to think beyond the box and come up with creative solutions to problems
