The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will plan and carry out TotalEnergies' CSR strategy in Uganda. This includes managing community development projects, partnerships with stakeholders, and long-term activities that have a beneficial effect. Important Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Delivery:
- Create and carry out the Company's full CSR strategy and action plan
- Set up guidelines for project design, execution, sustainability, and monitoring
- Start and lead the implementation of new CSR projects that management has approved
- Set up CSR budgets and keep an eye on spending against approved budgets
- Oversee contracting, procurement, and project management of CSR projects
- Lead and mentor the CSR team
- Work with other divisions in the company to decide how to handle corporate social responsibility.
Talk:
- Create and put into action CSR communication plans for the whole company
- Send out Information, Education, and Communication materials to stakeholders
- Raise awareness of CSR projects and results both inside and outside the company
- Write and publish the CSR report every year.
- Hold events to illustrate how the Tilenga initiative has helped the community.
- Make communication materials for a variety of stakeholder groups.
Relations with Stakeholders:
- Get the support of the right stakeholders for projects that are supported
- Work with strategic partners to create CSR programs
- Find partnership opportunities with organizations and institutions
- Build relationships with multilateral and bilateral development institutions
- Work with development NGOs in the Albertine region
- Work with Project Contractors and Subcontractors on CSR coordination
- Encourage needs assessment and targeted initiative selection
Analysis and Reporting:
- Keep an eye on your competitors' CSR strategies and the standards in your field
- Do benchmarking and third-party disclosures
- Make quarterly updates on how you are working with stakeholders.
- Make CSR reports on a regular basis for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Look at the effects of CSR and how well the program works.
- Keep an eye on industry initiatives and best practices
Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in development, communication, political science, economics, rural development, agronomy, sociology, project management, or engineering
- Business school degree taken into account
- At least six years of experience running community or development projects
- Worked with NGOs, philanthropists, or state development funds
- Ability to keep in touch with a wide range of local stakeholders
- Strong talents in managing projects and leading teams
- Great writing and analytical skills
- Ability to fulfill deadlines and work on your own
- Ability to work in the field for long periods of time and be flexible and work well with others
- The ability to think and plan strategically
- Experience with making and keeping track of budgets
- Building partnerships and getting stakeholders involved
- Being able to communicate and give presentations
- Being aware of and sensitive to other cultures
- Managing contracts and purchases
Requirements for Professionals:
- Knowledge of the social and economic situation in Uganda
- Experience in extractive industries (a plus)
- Skills in monitoring and assessment
- Skills in planning and running events
- The ability to handle crises and solve problems
