Job Summary:

The Drilling Methods & Performance Engineer will improve drilling and well operations by setting performance goals, looking at operational data, and pushing for ongoing improvements. This job combines technical knowledge with data analysis to make drilling campaigns more efficient, less expensive, and safer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Set goals for drilling and well operations in terms of time and money
Work with the Engineering and Operations teams to set performance metrics.
Report how well you did on cost and time parameters
Visit the site regularly to learn about the demands and limitations of operations.
Find ways to improve all the time by finding wasted time and ways to make things better.
Lead exercises to improve both on-site and in the office
Work with people that work on drilling and wells to come up with technological solutions.
Help with activities that aren't related to operations, such managing the budget and the campaign calendar.
Be the department's main point of contact for digital solutions.
Keep up and improve PowerBI displays for reporting on operational performance.
Teach team members about digital skills and how to use them well.
Look at the performance of campaigns and operational sequences.
Create technical solutions based on what has to be done
Keep an eye on safety and quality assurance/quality control performance measures.
Help with projects to build and administer databases

Skills and Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or training from a drilling academy
A lot of experience with Microsoft Excel and data processing
Great problem-solving and analytical skills
A sense of ownership and responsibility for the results of tasks
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in drilling and wells operations or engineering (preferred)
Experience measuring and improving industrial performance
Lean Management training (a plus)
Experience making visualizations with PowerBI
Expertise in building and managing databases
Experience with SAP connectivity
Understanding of APIs, connectors, and data integration
Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect certification (PL600 worth)
Ability to turn operational needs into technology solutions
Understanding how the site works and having experience in the field
Skills for managing costs and budgets
Ability to use technology and be digitally literate

Requirements for the job:

Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and data analytics and visualization tools
Knowledge of database management systems and SAP interface
Knowledge of PowerBI creation and maintenance
Software for measuring performance
