Job Summary

The Finance Graduate Trainee program gives recent graduates a chance to get hands-on experience with the financial operations of a large international NGO.

 Trainees will learn about important areas of finance such as budgeting reporting and managing partnerships 

This job is perfect for someone who is ambitious and wants to start a career in finance in the development sector where they will be able to make a real difference for children

Main Areas of Responsibility
  • Document Management: Store and protect financial papers so that they may be easily found in both physical archives and the electronic Document Management System (DMS)
  • Audit Support: Get whatever financial documentation you need for internal and external reporting like as audits VAT and others
  • Financial Processing: Help the senior accountant make monthly effort reports and help with journal entries for cost reclassification
  • Compliance: Help with tax filing and paperwork to make sure that local laws and SCI policy are followed
  • Verification: Check that the spending documents are correct and follow the rules set by the donor and the organization
  • General Support: Do any other finance and administrative chores that the line manager gives you
Academic Requirements
Requirement
At least a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (BCOM) Business Administration (BBA-Accounting) Science in Accounting or an area that is very similar
Candidates must have graduated within the last two (2) years of applying
Skills Experience and Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Good at using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to get along with coworkers and work well as part of a team
  • Cultural Awareness: A strong understanding of different cultures and how to work well with people from all over the world who come from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Values: A strong dedication to the values beliefs and mission of Save the Children
