Job Description

The Project Director holds the ultimate responsibility for the strategic direction and successful implementation of the EpiC Uganda project portfolio, which includes HIV and potentially other health areas

This senior leadership position involves ensuring the delivery of all project goals on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Director will manage a diverse team of technical and administrative staff, monitor project expenditures, and guarantee strict compliance with all donor regulations Serving as the primary point of contact for the US Government/Department of State and EpiC headquarters, the 

Director will lead the annual workplan and budget development processes and ensure all reporting requirements are met accurately and punctually.

 The role demands guiding innovation, fostering strategic partnerships, overseeing robust M&E systems, and promoting evidence-based practices As a key member of FHI 360 Uganda’s Senior Leadership Team, the Director will contribute to the overall country program strategy and business planning.

 The role also requires creating a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace while mentoring project staff for professional growth

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide the overall vision, leadership, and strategic planning for the implementation of all EpiC Uganda activities
• Lead, supervise, and mentor technical, management, and strategic information teams
• Oversee all aspects of program and financial management, ensuring compliance with donor rules and organizational policies
• Ensure all project targets and deliverables are met on budget and on time
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, donors, and civil society organizations
• Guide the technical and organizational capacity building of implementing partners and project staff
• Oversee the project's M&E system to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results
• Represent the EpiC Uganda project in national, regional, and global platforms and technical forums
• Coordinate closely with the FHI 360 Uganda country office for operational and administrative support
• Promote innovation and cost-efficient approaches in service delivery
• Support new proposal development and resource mobilization efforts as needed

Qualifications and Experience

• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Excellent problem-solving and strategic decision-making ability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools is expected
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory
