Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Officer at Ruko Establishments Milk Factory ensures compliance with quality control and food safety regulations throughout the milk processing plant, from milk receipt to finished product storage and dispatch. The role involves regular inspections, laboratory testing, and documentation to maintain high standards of product quality, hygiene, and safety.

Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quality checks on raw milk, in-process ingredients, and finished dairy products
  • Perform laboratory tests for microbiological, chemical, and physical parameters to ensure compliance with standards
  • Inspect milk receipt, processing, packaging, and storage areas for food safety and hygiene compliance
  • Record and report deviations or non-conformities to the Quality Assurance Manager for corrective action
  • Implement and adhere to quality and food safety systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and UNBS
  • Ensure proper handling, sampling, and documentation of quality control processes
  • Participate in internal audits and prepare for external inspections or certifications
  • Support cleanliness, sanitation, and pest control programs across production areas
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) during milk processing and packaging
  • Collect, analyze, and document product quality and production condition data
  • Maintain up-to-date quality records, including test results, checklists, and issue reports
  • Identify recurring quality issues and propose preventive measures
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues
  • Suggest process improvements to reduce product defects and waste
  • Participate in training sessions on food safety, hygiene, and quality
  • Inspect finished products before dispatch to ensure compliance with quality, packaging, and labeling standards
  • Monitor storage conditions to ensure product safety and shelf life
  • Ensure packaging materials and warehouse hygiene meet GMP standards

Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Food Quality Management, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or laboratory testing in a dairy or food production setting
  • Knowledge of milk testing, HACCP principles, and GMP implementation

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance regulations
  • Basic skills in laboratory testing and data documentation
  • High attention to detail and process adherence
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic data entry systems
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and in cold environments as needed

  • Product quality conformity rate
  • Number of quality issues identified and resolved
  • Timeliness and accuracy of quality reporting
  • Raw milk acceptance/rejection rate
  • Hygiene and sanitation audit scores
