Responsibilities

Support Land and Social contractors with Health and Safety issues related to their work.
Ensure compliance with local and international Health and Safety regulations.
Manage HSE reporting for Land and Social contractor activities.
Oversee incident management, including reporting, notification, investigation, and analysis.
Conduct contractor HSE management, including prequalification, tender evaluations, and audits.
Maintain an up-to-date HSE database and conduct HSE inductions.
Promote a strong health and safety culture, supporting programs like Zero Harm.
Prepare and lead toolbox meetings with EACOP workers and contractors.
Plan and deliver EACOP HSE training needs.
Support road safety initiatives, including vehicle inspections and driver toolbox talks.
Perform additional tasks as required by the role.

Work Environment

Project aims to complete EACOP in 39 months from Final Investment Decision, addressing technological, environmental, and social challenges.
Operates under HSE-MS across Uganda and Tanzania, adhering to IFC standards and Equator 4 Principles for funding.
High-risk environment with challenges like malaria, poor infrastructure, and significant traffic risks.
Requires travel to various worksites in Uganda and Tanzania.
Involves coordination with multiple stakeholders and scrutiny from NGOs.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirement	Details
Education	Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a recognized HSE field (minimum NEBOSH Certificate)
Certification	National Occupational Safety and Health certification (if required)
Experience	At least 10 years in oil and gas or similar industries with major projects
Technical Skills	Strong knowledge of contractor HSE management, risk analysis, and occupational health and safety
Behavioral Skills	Ability to work in a multicultural environment with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Language	Fluent in English (written and spoken)
