The Senior Technical Specialist for Community Health Services will play a pivotal role in strengthening community-based health systems The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Uganda Ministry of Health, District Local Governments, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable HIV/TB care and treatment services at the community level
Key responsibilitiesinclude providing targeted technical assistance for the deployment of Community Health Workers (CHEWs), supporting their effective use of digital reporting systems like eCHIS, and ensuring they are fully equipped to deliver integrated health service packages .
A critical function of this role is to guide and manage temporary financial support mechanisms for CHEWs, while simultaneously working with government counterparts to integrate these stipends into national systems for long-term sustainability.
The Specialist will oversee planning and budgeting processes related to community health, ensure compliance with donor requirements, contribute significantly to project reporting, support program quality improvement initiatives, and systematically document lessons learned to inform future programming and policy
